The sounds of children relentlessly repeating their ‘I-want-from-Santa’ lists with new additions on each recital; the dizzying whirr of names of relatives you never speak to but who need a Christmas something at least in response to their annual season’s greetings cards; the countless calls inviting and confirming invitations to family gatherings and seasonal parties; the countless bargains that are hollered at you from every shop window and pavement stalls; the incessant reminders of work that becomes urgently due only when you want your annual leave.
Wouldn’t it be a lot more jolly if you could escape that kind of clamor and just immerse yourself in the kind of sounds that remind you why you actually could love this time of the year?
